About HIF Global
HIF Global is the world’s leading eFuels company, developing projects to convert hydrogen using low-cost renewable power into carbon neutral liquid eFuels that can be transported and utilized in existing infrastructure. The name HIF represents the mission of the company: to provide Highly Innovative Fuels to make decarbonization of the planet possible. HIF Global is already producing eFuels in its Haru Oni eFuels Facility in Magallanes, Chile. HIF plans to construct commercial-scale plants in Matagorda (USA), Tasmania (Australia), Paysandú (Uruguay) and Magallanes (Chile).
HIF Global and Porsche
The HIF-Porsche partnership was born in 2019 when they started working together with other international companies on the first eFuels facility in the world: the HIF Haru Oni Demonstration Plant, located in southern Chile. Porsche signed an offtake agreement to buy all the synthetic gasoline produced at the facility. Using the strong wind of Magallanes, HIF Global produces green hydrogen, combine it with biogenic CO2 and obtains green methanol that is then converted into sustainable eFuel. The HIF Haru Oni eFuels facility has been operating since December 2022 and Porsche has received over 50,000 liters of HIF´s eFuels since then, including the fuel being used at the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Since April 2022, Porsche AG also holds a shareholder position at HIF Global.
