When even race-car drivers are left speechless by a series-production Porsche: Earl Bamber and Sven Müller get figurative about their first test-drive in the new, extremely sporty 911 GT3 RS.
Officially it’s not a sports car, but a road-
going Porsche has never been closer to being a pure sports machine than the new 911 GT3 RS. So what could be more natural than to invite two professionals to Weissach to get their own impressions of this ultra 911? One of them, Earl Bamber, is chasing one success after another in his relatively young racing career. In 2013, he won the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, and thus received support the following year as a Porsche International Cup Scholar. During this time, the New Zealander, who is now 24, managed to claim both the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and once again the Carrera Cup Asia. In view of his achievements, Porsche has now signed him as a factory driver for the 911 RSR.
The other professional, Sven Müller, is also one of Porsche’s up-and-coming young drivers. As part of the scholarship program, he competed in the Carrera Cup in the last season and will be a Porsche Junior driver in the Supercup this year. Before he came to Porsche, the 23-year-old Mainz native was active in Formula 3.
Both therefore have plenty of 911 Cup experience. But when Sven Müller and Earl Bamber visit the production facility, or Manufaktur, of the Porsche Motorsport department, they are left speechless — so we’ll let the pictures do the talking. You too will be able to see the 911 GT3 RS — just keep turning the pages.
